Thread: Tranny Cooler

  1. #1
hey guys, I just bought a tranny cooler for my truck since it did not come with one. I was wondering how hard is it to install? and can I install it myself or am I better off paying someone to install it for me? thanks

It's just some simple plumbing, with some time you should be able to DIY. It also depends how handy you are with bending hardline vs. rubber hydraulic line. Are you just going to use rubber hose, or bend hardline for it, or use stainless braided hose? And how big is the cooler, and does your cooler come with a thermostat?

Before doing the plumbing mount the cooler core, I bought some aluminum L bracket from Ace Hardware and made a stock-looking setup that attached to the hood latch support (A-frame in front of the radiator). I can post some pics if you want some inspiration.
