I had a few good runs this weekend, but we only got a couple runs on vid. The others weren't much to write home about anyway...a couple near stock mustangs and a 300z with a turbo.
The 03 gt was funny. These guys had no idea. We caught up to them, opened the cutout, and they laughed. We went from a dig twice and when they caught back up to us they were laughing their asses off and yelling WTF?! I seem to get that alot.
The guy in the boosted 300z thought it was ALOT faster than it really was.The first two races were from a dig. I launched it hard, then eased out of it by 65, and I had at least 5 cars on him. For some reason he wanted to go again, so we went from 20. It ended the exact same way.
Now for the fox body...I could hear the cam in this thing a mile away. When I pulled in the parking lot, the hood was up and a group of people were huddled around it checking it out. It sounded strong, so I was a little hesitant to run it in my fat ass truck, but I figured why not. I asked for a dig, but he said no. He agreed to a 20 punch, if I'd go again from 40, so off we went. I figured I would lose the 40 race, but I knew I had a good shot at the 20. 40 is the worst possible starting point for me, so I'm pretty happy with the results. When we went from 20, I pulled ahead on the launch, and he was at my back bumper when he missed third.
I tried 2 footing it on the 40 punch, to try and build boost..it kinda worked. He pulled out and I was at his back bumper till about 80, when I started to reel him in. He shut it down when I got to his door at about 90.
I found out the next night that it has a cam, gears, and several bolt-ons. The guy saw my Nelson Performance decal in the back window, so he found the site and saw my list of mods. I might have to talk to Allen about getting that thinned down a bit.
