Thread: another good weekend

A local forum had a meet for power adder cars. There was a pretty good turnout with about 45 cars. After we were run off by the local pd, we hit the street for some fun. I finally got the meth working, so it runs much better than it did before. First run was a gen 1 eclipse putting out 25psi. We went twice from a 20 roll. The first time, I was so far ahead by 70, I thought he backed out of it, so I let off the throttle for about a second. Then I saw him coming back, so I got back into it. He flew by me at around 110. We slowed back down and went again from 2o-25. I decided not to let out of it this time, and just give it hell. He was about 5 cars back till I hit 100; then he started pulling hard. I was at his rear bumper when I shut it down around 110. When we pulled back into the parking lot with veryone else, he parked on the far opposite side of the lot, and wouldn't talk to me.

The second race was a 92 fox body. It's a VERY clean car, that is very well built. We played around a bit last weekend, so he knew what it was capable of off the meth. We ran from a dig....he spotted me a length and the hit, and neither of us sprayed. I spun a little on the launch, but it really took off. I shut down at 110, when it started getting a little loose, and he was at my back bumper. It was a little scary, to say the least. I really shouldn't be running it this hard on these firestones. I'm definately ordering some drag radials this week. His car went 11.20 earlier this week spraying a 100 shot till the 1000' mark. I should have a vid of this one in the next day or so.

    SUV racing

The local f-body club is having a "domestic shootout" on Nov 4th, and 95% of them don't want me to participate. Scared of loosing to a 5600lb truck?

To use their words... "it's a family suv, not a race car." Ironically, my family suv is more than a full second faster than some of their stock, high-performance cars.

I know. I think about it during every run. We normally go to secluded roads on the outskirts of town from 12-4am.

What are you putting down at the wheels with your meth setup over without meth?

Yeah, but his car is capable of alot more. If he was on slicks, I wouldn't have stood a chance.

I have no idea. I still haven't gotten back on the dyno after all this. Without the meth it reall varies quite a bit based on the IAT's. It's really inconsistant. After things heat up, its not very strong. With the meth spraying this weekend, the temps not got over 144*, and that wasafter 2 hours of driving around town and a few WOT runs. The IAT's only climbed 20* by the end of the runs. I'd like to hit the dyno this week, but I'm starting to get really busy at work, and the place is about 45 min away so I can't really do it over the lunch break.
