To use HID lights properly you need a good projector lamp housing. HID in normal housing will spray the light pattern in everyones eyes and also have to much spread in its pattern. Also be careful picking a projector lamp. A "Cheap" housing usually has black inside the barrel of the projector housing and you will end up loosing the amount of light you should have gained. The projector that says Halogen will not properly pattern a HID light. Another point to remember is the xxK value is a color value not intensity value. The closer you can get to 50K the more "Pure" light it will produce. A true HID has to have a firing voltage and a steady voltage otherwise they will burn out quickly and not give off good light. Some manufacturers make a bulb and label it Xenon and call it HID even though it is a plug and play, not a 20,000 volt plus HID.

I had some on my '01 and made the housing mistake resulting in less light than stock. The HID's in the projector will have a pattern of left of center a few inches lower than the right of center, signs and pedestrians....

so whats the point of projector headlights then? i mean they do look different than stock, but the way u put it, it adds no performance other than that. HID's r wht i want, i just dont want to spend a billion bucks getting them. also does anyone know who carries sylvania HID's i asked a dude the other day what his HID's were and he said sylvania. they r the nicest ive ever seen, but stylinconcepts doesnt have them.

Don't get me wrong ....
If you get a quality projector and DO NOT TOUCH THE HID BULB the system works great. HID does put out some clean light and will luminate things farther down the road than your stock bulbs, the Sylvania Silverstar bulbs or even the Halogen bulbs
If you go cheap you will get cheap

o trust me im worried bout it have been forever, but i may have another truck to drive for a while and it may enable me to do a lot more stuff to this truck before i make it my DD again. NEW PAINT may be coming soon, havent finished the final details yet, but looks as if that will be one of the things done to it fairly soon(after tranny). It's good to know somebody in the auto repair business!
