I wouldnt go bigger than 2.5" if your gonna dual it out. It depends on where and how you want your exhaust to exit. If you have a 5.3 dont go bigger than 2.5" for duals and 2.75" for single turn downs or you will kill your low end torque a bit and help the top end. 2.5" is pretty much the norm for a small block and you only need to go bigger if your making like 500+ hp. I have a 6.0 with true dual 2.5" and its on the big side for the mods i have. You need to take into consideration what kind of sound you want, DB level, and what mods you will be doing in the future, since from your sig you seem to like listening to music more than the sound of your truck, i would say 40 series flow with dual 2.5" outlets, if your gonna dual it all the way out. If you want turndowns, i would stayaway from the 40 series and go with a single in single out 3" muffler and a turn down as far away from the cab as possible. I would try a magnaflow but thats just my preference. You need to tell where you want it to exit and how loud you want it.

Your 40 series isnt loud? Allstars 40 series Delta rumbles nice! And I had a 40 series on my old Z71 that sounded pretty sweet.

I always heard the older they got the louder they got, just because the were getting "broke in". Maybe yours is defective . All the 40's ive heard have had a nice rumble, especially being dumped.

if you like listening to music, you might stay away from the imco extreme. your buddies setup wont be the same as yours.
