well today i went to pick up the truck. we started it up and it seemed like the battery was almost dead(brand new yellow top optima 200 bucks). anyways it starts up but its idle is at like 300-500 rpms, seems very weak, but figure that may be ppart of the pcm that needs to be adjusted. but when i left the shop the truck got up to about 40 and was hitting 4000 rpms and wouldnt go any faster. wjhat could the problem be? maybe the engine was hooked to a 80e and needs to be tuned to the 60e? the dudes getting it looked at tomorrow, but i figured maybe id get ideas from yall now.

Hmmm, it could be the tranny. Is it stuck in 1st or 2nd gear? Are you running the 4l80e 6.0 PCM with stock tune?

yeah stock tune, again we're thinking maybe its not picking up the differences in the 60e and 80e, and maybe thats y its acting weird. ive never had a problem with this transmission, so again were thinkin/hopin thats all thats going on.

i think you need to just get it tuned. plain and simple and from there if it acts up just see if its then tranny related.

yea, its most likely the tune. If your short on cash see what Allen would charge for a "Stock 6.0" tune with the 60e tuned to your vin.
If he would do this im sure when its time to get the full blown Nelson Tune he would work out a deal with you, possibly subtract the price you paid for the stock tune and just have you pay the difference. Just tell Allen your situation!

Sure you can with HPT or EFI, Hpt requries a rewrite with the proper cal. EFI I believe can rip the segment from what I have gathered, But dont use it so dont know all the details with there software.

Ok, Not going to say thats your problem. But I have done a few that did the samething. Some ran better than others. Have you checked for codes you should be getting a few soleniod codes. Your old pcm should work for a test and have the proper segmant for the 4l60e you still have. It will run just fine with the 6.0L but need a retune for saftey as it may run alittle lean.

Good Luck
