i was browsing the net on lunch break earlier today and came across the belltech 2" shackle drop kit.. when i got home, i measured from the tire to the wheel well.. front end sits 3 inches above the tire and the rear sits 5 1/2 inches. what i want to know is this; will this kit make the rear end sit exactly 2 inches lower, or wont there be much of a difference?

    i want the rear to sit basically the same height as the front, if this kit isn't what i need, i'll look elsewhere.. but spill your knowledge, please.

    the kit i'm looking at

    here's two pics for a reference of what i'm speaking of..

    front end (3inches);

    rear end(5 1/2inches);

    for some reason the page isnt loading, but if its belltech shackles/hangers for a 2 inch drop in the back then it would sit level.

    FYI if you decide to go lower and cant decide if a 2/4 or a 3/5 drop will fit with the tires, dont try and measure from the ground to the edge of the fenders on the front or rear. i did that and though tthat the tires wouldnt fit, but after i got my 2/4 on there was plenty of room for taller tires. sorry just my

    the kit has got the shackles only, no hangers..

    should i look at getting the hangers aswell? or will it sit near front height with the shackles only?

    edit: after looking at the belltech kits, they only offer a 3 inch shackle/hanger kit, unlike the shackle only kits which is 2 inches.

    i think for something like a 2inch you would only need shackles. i got hangers because i went 4inches in the back. but since your not going so low then the stock hangers will be fine. itll sit right at the same height as the front with just a 2inch shackle kit im pretty sure.

    if anyone has any better details to back up my claim i would appreciate it. i cant seem to find the words.

    djm and mcgaughys make shackle kits.

    to be honest i got the 2 inch shackles like these, and id now like to have the fron lowered an inch and th back 1 more inch, making it a 1/3 drop. although these would still make ur truck look great! mine were just shackles FYI

    I think Oreilly's sells a 3" Belltech shackle, if 2" doesn't do what you want it to.

    1982 Silverado - just an old truck motor I had sitting around the house.
