I have the UD crank and OD alternator pulleys. I noticed a decent SOTP gain but I also lost the mech fan at the same time so I can't say how much was from the pulleys. I don't have any problems with A/C or power with the e-fans. The voltage does drop just 1-1.5 amps when the fans come on but not enough to dim the lights or anything. If I had an amp I'd probably go with a 145amp alternator.

There a several good "how to's" on porting the TB but my time is money and I'd just as soon get one from Billy and install it myself than run the risk of screwing mine up. I haven't heard of anyone that didn't like the improvements from the ported TB.

Does it make a difference on a DBW FI setup?

Yes it does. The ridges and roughness are all gone.
I had someone do a before and after with the turbo and they gained 10rwhp.

Unless you just want to drop alot of money on a ported TB or you want one that you can put your makeup on with (you don't wear makeup do you Moze?) then just port it yourself. I mean unless these guys are using a flowbench or doing some really extravigant stuff to your TB then I don't think it's worth the coin. The main thing that makes a difference is removing the hump at the bottom of the inlet where the blade opens. Do that, halve the shafts, fill in the ports and take out some bulk from the inlet staying true to the original shape and you'll be impressed with it and yourself.

Hello Moto.

Sorry, I can't help but say that (like that cell phone commercial).

I'm not a bit interested in porting it myself. I don't have the time or desire. I'll pay the $150 to Billy and bolt 'er on and be done with it.

BUT...if that's a $150 mod and pulleys are $200, is there a single better mod for about the same price? (Headers will be done in March).

How much do you expect to get out of this combination?
[/b]

Oh I honestly have no idea. I'm just feeding the disease. Besides headers, I'm runnning out of stuff to do that's in the low-hundreds range. I've heard 5-10 hp from the pulleys and I would think about the same from the throttle body. If I score 10-20, so be it.
