I just ordered some new toyo's for the truck

front: 255/55/18
rear: 285/50/18

I don't know anything about the tires, but got a good deal on them. I'm hoping that the larger rear will help me hook up a little better.
No more trucks, but this is what I used to have. 2000 GMC Sierra, 6.0L-LQ4, Built 4L60, LS6 Cam, The Other Guys Headers, 3 inch exhaust and 7 chamber flowmaster, 43lb injectors, Nelson Tuning, Drop - 3/4 McGaughys Spindles, Bell Tech Shackles & Hangers. Best time 13.59 @ 106

Good to hear the lake didn't swallow you yet.

Why didn't you go with the 305/50's? They hooked preetty well for you I'd say.

how you been ross? how much did those toyo's run for all four? if you can get some pics up from like a side angle. id like to see the stance/look of the truck with the smaller on the front and larger on the rear.

when they are new, they hook pretty good. they wear down fast and once the tread gets about 1/2 way down they get flat out scarry in the rain. also, after you lose about 1/2 tread all traction goes out the window. i went to nitto 404's as a second set of tires and wont go back to the proxies. maybe im just a 1 case deal though. everyone else praises them...i feel like i just fell into the "toyo proxy hype". the 404's are a better tire IMO.

i havent tried the proxies so i cant say too much about them, but these nittos hook up real good. although its not like i have alot of torque to burn the tires down, they are real nice.

Mine have been pretty good to me. I have actually gotten my best 60' with them. I have done many burnouts with them and I'm pleasantly suprised with their wear. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

I've had my Toyo's for a little over a year, and I've put about 10k miles on them. They look new, and perform very well. I'm running the 305/45-22's. Good luck with the traction. In 2wd, it doesn't take much to light em up.

thats my experience with the toyos after a few miles, and thats exactly what we dont want. if i could keep the power and never be able to peel out ever again i would be sooooo happy. loss of traction=slower times, and it will be sooner to buy expensive tires.
