well got back from the thunder shootout last night and let me say it was a blast.
lots of racin and jokin around.
i made it to the second round and broke out.
but other than that it was fun.
transmission held up nicely. have to say a little to good. second gear really kept my times down because of all the wheel spin. gonna have to see what i can do with edit to fix that.
if anybody knows what i can do, feel free to explain. i can use all the help i can get.
another thing that hurt me in my opinion was the lack of tuning. something is just not right with the way the truck is runnin.
    my best was a 15.281 @ 90.11 mph, 60ft- 2.265, and my 1/8 mile at 9.889 @ 72.07 mph
well im gonna be lookin for some springs and a nice sounding cam with some horse power. that will be my next mod and then maybe i can finally get some tuning done.

Hey thanks for the update, from reading the post it sounds like it was fun.
So how many ppl/trucks showed up?

I bet it was a blast with all those trucks.

It just came up too fast for me to go, maybe next time.

Get that tuning going before you get more mods, it'll be a lot easier than trying to fix more than one thing.
What is your truck doing that it's not running right?

there where 13 trucks in the truck eleiminator. that qualified on Sat.
3 more showed up sunday but they wouldnt let them in our class.
they had to run the bracket class
my truck ran a 15.2 early sat mornin and from then on it just got slower and slower. while everybody else was getting quicker. kinda sucked.
so you think i should go ahead and tune before getting a cam installed.?

Not at all flaming...just asking a question--why would you tune BEFORE doing the cam swap? The truck will need tuning after the cam, so why not get the truck fine-tuned after the cam?

Now, if there is a problem, you need to get that straightened out before moving on to other mods.

that was my thoughts also. but allen knows more about this stuff than i do. so if he says to do it that way. i will listen very closely.

i heard allen you where gonna be at the truck gathering nov. 30th
if im there would you mind taking a look at my program. i havnt been able to do much with it. basically its a HPPIII program with no torque management and shift firmness.
i dont have auto tap yet. but im gonna go see if i can get an O2 bung welded in sometime before the meet.
im tryin to make it to MTI but just havnt been able to do it yet.

    Hey '01Thunder:

Glad to see that your tranny is holding together well. I don't know too much about tuning but if you are using the HPP3 program as a base you don't gain much.

I'd get your shift points up, and begin adding timing.

I am going to try to make it to the meet on the 30th on Nov in H-town...I have ATAP if you want to run with it and log some stuff. It's the Enhanced version for all Domestic/Import vehicles.
