I think you are reffering to an LQ9, which is the same engine out of an SS, Escalade, maybe Denali and of course the almighty VHO

Stock with 345 hp & 380 ft/lb of torque. Great starting point. What trans do you have?

actually the LQ9 is the high compression version of the LQ4. either engine is great, the difference is pistons, and about 20-45 horsepower. both are rated at 6.0 liters, and both if im not mistaken are ls1 based. my friend has the LQ9 in his SS, and i just bought an LQ4 for my 1999 RCSB and if u read on here u can see the problems u might run into on the swap. i havent even gotten mine in the truck yet, but i cant wait to see what happens when 325 horses hits the flywheel haha. good luck also i think theres a poll i posted on here regarding engine selection. again lots of helpful people on here, and plenty of shit to read now that ive been asking questions on this shit haha. good luck dont be afraid to ask questions!

Replacing the current 4.3 in your silverado requires more than just putting in a new engine.. You will have to install new mounts and registers as well as have a custom tune to accomadate the extra displacement in the new motor, or you can purchase a new PCM which will work for that engine. You will also have to get a 4.8,5.3,6.0 wiring harness which has a hefty pricetag of about 650.00 make sure that your new motor is complete with wiring harness and pcm,if you do this it will prevent you from purchasing them like stated above. If you get the LQ9 it will bolt up to your current 4l60e (auto) If you get a LQ4 you will have to get a new flexplate because the LQ4's only used 4l80e trannys which have nothing in common with the 60e. You will also need to find a way to hook up your fuel lines because they will not be in the correct position for the 6.0. Nothing in your current exhaust setup will work so you will have to purchase a complete exhaust setup which can cost around 800.00 (headers y-pipe and mufflers). You will also want POSI traction because who wants 330hp with no traction so set aside another 500.00 for this you may want to put in new gears which will cost you another 250.00 (oem gears) Last but not least you will have to upgrade your tranny or have it "built" to withstand the power of the 6.0 if you fail to do this you will be back under your truck in no time, Cost for this is around 1,000 to 2600.00 If the truck isnt paid for yet i would trade it in on a 4.8 V8 model and then put in a 6.0, it will be a direct fit and everything will bolt over. If you are determined to do this swap we are here to help but remember this is no cheap project..

dont forget about the hummer H2.... it has a lq4 and a 4l65e trans.....lots of used parts for them. pluss the trans wont force shift from the lower gears, once in low it stays in low...

Stock suspension will work fine. HELL no dont buy the engine from the stealer, i mean dealer. They will rob you in price for a "complete" engine. Contact HWY AUTO sponsor here i believe or Schram auto parts i bought a complete 2005 6.0 with all acc. for 2000.00

Fuel mileage depends upon your driving style. With a light foot, low numerical number rear gears, tall tires, light weight truck, you could expect 20mpg if you don't dog the hell out of it all the time. You could get 8mpg if you cannot restrain yourself from matting the pedal every time you drop it in gear.
