LOL yeah thats what happened. LOL man thats cool but you still got people with cars that only do like 40 on the highway, atleast thats what they wanna do. To me thats gonna cause more road rage or other crap. Im cool with it, i already kinda do those speeds.

sh!t it needs to be faster than that, I got a ticket for doing 89mph in the big boat and it felt smooth as glass, you can't even tell it's moving that fast. Maybe vehicles should be rated on some sort of scale on how safe they handle. A station wagon from 1970 has no business going that fast LOL.
They should be concerned about how much more fuel is going to be wasted, I know my truck guzzles it down above 75mph. Not that I care about fuel cost, but now ppl are going to be bitching about how much fuel they're using, hahah, but they'll still go 80mph.
Bitch when it rains, bitch when it don't lol

just my opinion,
allen

"This could actually help a little bit with gas consumption because a vehicle burns the most gas when accelerating, so if you are going at a consistent speed, you will save gas and less people will be slamming on their brakes."

This cracks me up, wouldn't a person who slammed on their brakes, then tried to accelerate to 80mph instead of 55mph use more fuel.
Also, all the highways getting the 80mph speed limit out here are in the hilly country, trying to keep a vehicle at that speed uses a lot more gas.

This also means a lot hotter EGT's for those turbo trucks. This means more power for trucks, a lot more turbo sales, hehehhe. MORE GAS, MORE GAS!!

I guess there are always two sides to the debate, that's a funny article article though.
Nice joke of the day, lol.

faster the better!! if your vehicle can go fast then by all means it should be allowed, These NBS chevy trucks ride RIGHT at 100 mph, GM engineers deserve an atta boy for the ride on these bad boys!!

they at least need to put a minimum speed limit in those areas as well so most will be driving around the same speed...
