the LT motor is not as bad as everyone thinks it is, I have 383 LT1 in my Camaro and it does just fine. sure the LS architecture is much better (strictly because it is a newer motor and a direct descendant of the LT), but no need to toss the LT if you already have it. it should bolt right up to your 700r4. check out ltxtech forum, there are a lot of knowledgeable guys there that can go into more specifics on harness and such for the swap should you decide to go that route.
