No, not on that forum. We have a few close to us. Twitty's Mudbog and Thunder Valley Mudplex being the closest. Haha, I know those are some big shoes to fill but you got to have a goal, right?

Always wanted to do a Direct Connections TPI LS1 PCM swap. How straight forward is it?

It's all straight forward as long as you aren't afraid of wiring. Have to run a 4x type calibration, swap injector and coil wiring for cylinders 2&3 and 4&7. Then just reassign the cylinders for fuel trim. Pretty sweet conversion IMO.

No sorry, I started on it 9 years ago. Didn't even know what an Internet forum was, lol! First swap I ever did was a 98 Vortec 5.7 into the Toy. Ran the crap out of it for three years and finally spun a rod bearing. That's when I did the 5.3.

As far as mounting, I just used some universal weld up engine mounts because back then I was no fabricator. Originally ran a 4l60e with Toyota crossmember modified. Then a 4l80e and I built a crossmember for it. Now I run a th400 with the same x member.

I've learned alot since I started this truck so I'm wanting to build another one from scratch in a couple years. Try to show off my skillz next go round, lol.

I'm working on a 61 C10. It's getting a DBC 5.3/ 60E with A/C, power steering conversion, power/ disc brakes and getting lowered 2". More pics to come...

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgsThanks Mrmann! PM reply coming soon. I made some wiring progress on the 61 last week. Got the harness complete all the way up to the PCM and fuse/ relay center. All the excess has been trimmed and it's ready for crimping and pinning at the pcm then I'll configure the fuse/ relay center. It's really difficult to tell in the pics, but all the wiring is protected by expandable nylon sleeving with heat shrink at all branches. I get the stuff from Del City if anyone wants to know. I must warn you, using this stuff is painfully time consuming and tedious. The PCM must be completely de-pinned and each branch must be very carefully blueprinted because the sleeve is not split. It looks so cool and clean in person that it's totally worth it, you just have to have tons of patience and be willing to do a lot of planning.
