I see what you're saying, you didn't mention bracket racing, yes, that's true, I was still on the topic of test and tune night.
Thanks for the clarification,
Regardless of reaction time, I still win, hahahah JK
see ya later,
allen

I don't think they add your reaction time to your E.T. it's just the simple fact that a .500 light is exactly when the green light comes on(5 tenths of a sec. between each light coming down the tree)so the later that you leave obviously the longer it will take to get to the other end. The timer does not start until you have broken the starting beams, time only or bracket racing eather one it doesn't matter. A pro tree is 4 tenths of a second between all the lights coming on and the green coming on therefore a perfect light for the pros is a .400.

so when we post on here the ET it is what the truck ran not the sleeping time included. So if I run a 13.00 with a 2 second reaction time I would post on here 13.00 (of course I wont scan the sheet so nobody will know how tired I was that night)
Anyway I am going to give it a shot tonight...
should I try to log one of the runs?

I was wondering when i go to the track if just doing a good long burnout would be helpful for the turbo cuz after sitting it doesnt work as good as when you drive it down the road and get it warm, then its ON!! Any other STS guys notice this?yep...i dropped a 1/2 second off my time with a restalled stock verter...
allen there is more in yours if you can hot lap it...you will see a gain of 2 tenths or better for a couple since the turbo gets hotter every run and spools up better giving you a better et....that goes to anybody with a sts turbo system....

yep...a longer burnout will help...also let the truck idle in the staging lane....

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(motoxlifer @ May 19 2006, 11:58 AM) </div>During bracket racing, reaction time has everything to do with winning. The slower your reaction time when bracket racing, the slower your overall time on the sheet.I don't think they add your reaction time to your E.T. it's just the simple fact that a .500 light is exactly when the green light comes on(5 tenths of a sec. between each light coming down the tree)so the later that you leave obviously the longer it will take to get to the other end. If you run a 13.0sec 1/4 mile and dial in at a 12.99 but your reaction time is .600, I run a 15.00sec with a reaction time is 14.99 and have a reaction time of .500, I win.
They add your reaction time to your 1/4 mile time during competition only.
So guys, when you're at the track, and you're practicing on how to launch, forget about the green light, let it set and take your time, don't worry about the reaction time.
