Best thing do do is dump the old gas gussling 350 and tbi system altogether and do an LS swap. U can probably do it all for under $1000 or less. If u can find a donor vehicle it will make the swap alot more easier. If ur on a budget heard the 4.8 is great for daily driving or for boosting and just has a bit less power than the 5.3 (I swapped In a 5.3 in my 94 c1500). 6.0 is ideal but very desirable and pricey. Between all 3 wire harnesses are about the same. U can mod your own harness thru lt1swap.com and he can remove vats (vehicle anti-theft system) from the ecu for like $75. Vats must be removed after you swap it in or truck will not start. I pieced my swap together and it was a pain looking for parts on the cheap. So that's why a donor vehicle is best. Any drive train under 150k miles donor vehicle is fine. U need mounts and if you do the harness yourself, u save alot and it doesn't take but a few wires to hook up the LS harness to ur truck.
