    The 98 cable is longer and it will fit like it should.

    What about the bracket? does anybody know if they make an aftermarket bracket? or should I get one out of a certain year?

    The regular ol cable 5.3/6.0 cable bracket that goes on the intake will work, and as the others said, a vortec 305/350 cable.
