    thats the way i did it and it works perfectly. i just dont remember the size of the resistor tho.

    The tach on my 92 worked without a resistor. I just adjusted the settings in hp tuners until the tach matched what the gauge in hptuners showed. I think mine are set on 6. My truck was originally a 4.3 v6.

    Just wanted to update this thread. I had a little time today so I did the fix in post #2. It worked perfectly, I set my tach resolution to 3 in HP-Tuners, that got the tach as close as I could to what the computer see's. I think 3.5 would have been perfect but it only lets you do whole numbers. Anyway, just wanted to post up what I found to work.
