The coolant temp adapter I got wouldn't work so I ended up using an f body 3 wire sensor and it's been fine. A lot of people say the gauge will be off but mine is correct according to my hp tuners anyway.

I do t know if this helps or not, but when I got to that part of the swap with my 2001 4.8 in my 95 rcsb, I just plug the stock 95 pig tail (still wired like stock in the 95 harness) into the stock 01 sending unit and it worked perfect. Reads ~55 cold ~45 idle warm.
Look up LS oil port adapter on ebay. About 15 bucks. Cheaper than buying a good tap. Use that and your original sensor.
I want to add to this topic for future reference. The 12V going into the oil pressure sender is a backup for the fuel pump relay, on my 94 you could disconnect the fuel pump relay and the oil pressure sender would keep it running. The 12V has no affect on the sensor and as such, you are able to simply plug in the sender to your stock harness, you will just lose the relay back up.
