    oiling issues?????

So heres the situation, my buddy has an 01 5.3 in his 90 body silverado. A friend of his broke his oil pan. He then picked up the oil pan and pickup tube from an 07 silverdao. The new oil pan has like a pressure relief valve on it im assuming for dod. The windage tray had to be cut to clear the valve. After the new pan/pickup tube was installed the the truck now has a nasty top end tick. I told him he is having the oiling problem because the wrong parts were used and the windage tray now looks like a piston was shot through it, does this sound like it could be causing the oiling issues. The lifters were replaced today as well as the pickup tube o ring and the problem is still there. Can someone please shed some light? Thanks for any help.

it has been apart and investigated and all looks good except for the problems i described.

could the oil pan and pickup off of the 07 with that relief valve/the broken windage tray be causing the low oil pressure at idle???

if he had the money I'm sure he would, I'm just looking for confirmation that the issues i described would cause the oiling issues the truck is having.

if not mistaken im sure they are different very well possible be the problem. was the oil pan broken before the truck ran? or did the truck run and the oil pressure was ok ?

if the 5.3 was bought oil pan broke truck hadnt ran with 5.3 id change the pump also

truck ran and drove fine, then the borrower of the truck was playing with the ride height and dropped it too low then bang broken oil pan, oil pan was replaced with what i told my buddy was the wrong shit being that the windage tray had to be cut to fit. pump was replaced when we did the swap.
