    Prepping for the conversion

Hey guys been awhile since I've been on but finally got some headway into starting the ls conversion for my truck. I bought a ls3 with 95000 miles on it and just purchased a new 6 lug rear end with posi-track from a 01-05 silverado to upgrade the rear to disc brake. Next week I'm planning on acquiring 88-98 4x4 front hubs to upgrade them to disc brakes. Not a whole lot of has been bought but I've been on a tight budget as of recently so buying the motor and rear end is really the major head start for me. I am planning on doing a trans conversion from auto to stick just to have one behind the ls3 and i am also planning on putting on a corvette intake and a turbo when i can finish affording everything else i need before hand. If you have any tips or tricks i might be able to use you are more than welcome to leave them.

I have a 92 silverado 4x2. It's currently 5 lug all the way around disc in front drum in rear. Buying a new posi rear end with disc brake out of a 01-05 silverado and updating the front as well to match. I'm going from a 4.3 mounted to 700r4 and I'm putting in the ls3 mounted to a ford tremec 5 speed. I have considered finding a 01-02 camaro as 6 speed but decided to go the other route since the 5 speed transmission is cheaper.

gonna need another bell housing for that ford trans. is it a t-5 or t-45? (your trans input will determine the proper flywheel and clutch)
what year stang? did you want a cable clutch or hydraulic? gonna need a drive shaft adjustment.
what engine harness are you going to use?
you may need to throw in some mopar parts to keep it all original!!

I'm pretty sure I can pull the bell housing off of my 700r4 to put on the other trans. The trans is a t-5 coming out of a 01-03 mustang. I would like to go hydraulic for the trans. I'm going to buy a long heel base drive shaft to have it cut down to fit. I'm gettin a custom harness from psi .
