Right now I have an autocal from blackbear. I'm going to be getting hp tuners. My first question is can I have them both licensed to my truck at the same time? My second question is if I de-license the autocal from my truck will the tune stay?

So the issue with this is that blackbear uses efilive which will interfere with you using hptuners. Don't quote me on this, but I seem to remember someone posting a tuning issue and it turned out to be the switch from efilive and they had to flash a stock tune.

Well that is stupid if that's true.
Doesn't matter what device is used to tune your pcm, efilive and hptuners should read the pcm and allow you to rewrite and edit it.
Sometimes this doesn't hold true when using handheld tuners like superchips or hpp.
Customers hop from one tuner to the next all the time, someone using different hardware and software to tune the pcm vs the next guy is still able to tune the pcm.
If the pcm becomes corrupt, then that's a different story.
hope that helps,

i think my wife's tahoe was tuned with a handheld but we never got it. now i have to get the ECU flashed by the dealership is what i'm being told.
more than likely hptuners will read it just fine; we do it all the time.
try it , then flash it.
there's a repository online you can compare and put your tahoe's tables back to stock.
it's not like the handhelds change much anyway.

I got a extra PCM that was tuned with efi live and used it on a truck that I was tuning with hp tuners and wasn't able to read or write to it until it was flashed by the dealer.
The tune must have been locked by the previous tuner, that's why you couldn't do anything with it. Nelson had to send me one that was unlocked when i bought HPT from them.
