Good scan tool

Thats ok can you do generic obd2 at all on other cars or is it only gm

Mostly just GM some fords and mopars. I have seen some random newer Toyotas And such that can be logged.

Are there any other good scan tools to purchase other than hp tuners or efi? I'm looking for something that will be able to command tests ( EVAP, O2 SENSOR, MONITORING SYSTEMS), as well as show codes, erase them too. Would also like to see live data. Any good ones for $300 ?
