Thread: Shift cable too short on 98 tahoe which mtr mounts will keep trans in stock position

    Well after hours of looking and figuring I finally found out that I had the engine too far forward and the reason that the ending would not slide back was because I used the stock ground cable on the 5.3,, if it is used it will not allow the mounts to adjust. I removed the bolt and relocated the ground cable, then used a chain winch to pull the trans and engine rearward and get it into the proper position... thrilled I got it lined out and fixed yet at the same time I felt like a idiot

    that or just use a decent size hammer. thats how i get things that give me too much trouble to fit where they are supposed to go. i call it the "adjsutment tool"

    i made my own. Mine is a 2wd. and that one spec that says 3/8 hole should be 5/16 then tapped to 3/8
