Newbie help. 4.3 tranny behind 4.8

First off, this seems like a pretty helpful site especially for stuff I'm not super familiar with. So just another newb but I hope to keep learning more on here. But here's my latest issue.

I've searched my ass off for the last couple weeks and can't find anything. I've got a 2001 2wd 1500, tranny was junk when I bought it and I had a 4.3 out of a 2001 s10 that I know is good in my garage. I've had people tell me it will bolt right up, and then other people tell me that I had to change bell housing and torque convertor. Can anybody confirm what I have to do? I'm losing my mind. Thanks in advance.

I did read the stick up above and it says they bolt up the same, but there's 1/2" different in how far these bell housings stick out, and the input shaft looks different...I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section

I bought a brand new torque convertor for a 4.8 and it goes up on there and locks in just like it does on the 4.8 transmission. So should I be ok?

disregard the 1/2" thread. its only for the 6.0l whereas you have a 4.8. you will be o.k.
