ah yes. the link mickey posted is what i was thinking about. your right its and electronic but i knew there was something diff about the 94 and earlier and that is it. you may be able to get a TCM to controll it but dont quote me on that. i know nothing about those or how they work. might be worth looking into tho.

im glad you like my thread. and im glad my pics with of the motor mounts helped you. i knew someone else was gonna run into that.

also how do you plan to modify the pan? just cut a section out of it and weld it back up? do you know how to weld aluminum? i dont otherwise i would probably go that route. how much you think it would cost to have somone do it? would it be worth my time or should i just get the fbody one for 200-250?

I have a friend with a TIg wlder, he wont charge me but maybe $30 to do it or I can just got to my uncles and use his tig. I can weld pretty good

I bet if u cut and section the pan yourself, it would probably cost less then $50 to have it welded but they gotta be good so u got no leaks. There was a horsepower episode or one of those shows on powerblock where they sectioned and modified there oil pan for almost the same reasons.

H*ll will freeze before I pay over $100 for a stock f body pan.

yeah, the prices for these things are rediculous. but i have less than 40 days until my warantee is up and i still have quite a bit left to do and i just dont have the time to really mess with that. i thought about just getting the motor hooked up and running but i actually wanna drive it to really test it and i cant take the chance rollin down the street with the truck pan.

as to your question, those links look promising but im not sure i can help you out much more as thats out of my knowledge range. keep googling!! lol but post back how it goes if you got it working and how. id def be interested in knowing. good luck!

Thats about all I could find, might have to go over to LS1tech and see if I can get any info on this. I gotta know before i send off for a flashed ecm.

All my parts will be in by this weekend. Plan on the swap taking less then a week. I have 90 day warranty on my engine as well and want to get it running quickly to make sure they pulled the same engine I marked. I got mine complete for $297.

Man I thought I had all the parts too before I started and let me tell u, I wasn't even close. Hell im about to put in another order today at summit for more... (i think that will be the last of it) and I thought it was gonna be a week also.... Its been almost 2 months..... But I also have a crazy work schedule. Stuff comes up. Be prepared for that. Its true what they say, it always takes longer than u think. But hope you can make your projected timeline! Post pics, progress, problems and everything. When u plan on starting? Next monday?

I am going to start modifying my harness to standalone tomorrow. The flywheel adapter and motor mount adapters are already here. I have my stock engine sold for $600, the guy already paid me so I just gotta get it out.

I have so much stuff listed that i was scared to order it all. But the totals were much lower then expected. Since I decided to use stock manifolds and cam for now, I have only spent $900 and thats with the 5.3 engine. Headers, cam, and performance tune was cut out of the build.. Just sent pcm off to have vats disabled and emissions stuff removed. Not bad for less then $100

I am on the same boat as u are. I started my swap of a 5.3 into my '94 W/T 6 weeks ago and plan on keeping my 4L60. From what I have read too, u can swap out the trans internal harnes to that of a later one, like a 1998 and it can be controlled by the LS pcm. The bad thing about '94 and older 4l60, is that they have PWM. Its suppose to soften the shifts. Mine does not have it. I also read on one of the treads, that u can simply have the PWM removed from the PCM when u flash it. That's what I plan on doing when I send it out to the guy at lt1swap.com in a few weeks.
