    Another torque converter question

I am wondering if anyone can tell me the difference between a B29 series torque coverter and a B85 series? B29 is what was in my 98 GMC.

from what i gather, the b29 was used in 700r4 and 4l60e applications behind genI and genII motors (one piece bellhousing transmissions) the b85 converter is for genIII and genIV applications. the only differences i can remember is the pilot snout being smaller in diameter and longer on the b85 converter than that of the b29.

looks like there are lots of stall speeds to choose from in the b29 application, depending on suffix of the part number (most are 4 or 5 digits long).
    2000 ECSB Silverado 2wd 5.3/4l60e. basically stock
