Pm me with some info if you don't mind.
it started out as a lvl7 65e from FLT. it needed new clutches so i sent it to Vince B on pt.net for the rebuild/transbrake and extra billet internals. Vince originally built it for FLT, and has put his own touches inside of it since then, so it is now officially a Vince B transmission B)

The Explorer 8.8 is 59.5" from flange to flange stock and 57" if you use two short axles and have the one side shortened. Doing this will also center the pinion instead of keeping it offset.

everything i've read says that the wms to wms on the cut 8.8 will be 56.5. the long size is 3" longer from what i understand. i will be having the 8.8 cut down.

i wish. i'm in no rush on it. it will probably be a few more months until it is ready. still need to re-do all of the factory brake lines, wire a lot of stuff, run a fuel system, relocate battey, have the rear end cut down, install spring sliders, and i'm sure i will find a few surprises along the way. it's close, but my wrench time is limited.
