    1979 Silverado 6.0 swap

I swapped a 6.0 and 4L80e from a 2006 Silverado into my 79 Silverado. easy swap. Exhaust manifolds worked with just a little notch on the frame on passenger side. Most of my time was used finding small items and fittings for trans cooling lines, power steering fittings, and such. Not difficult, just time consuming. Plan well and read all the post. Good luck. It is worth the effort.

A small thread hijack, dayman, how did the 4L80E clear the tunnel, or did you have to modify it? I would love to see some pics please.
I too spent a lot of time with fiddly bits. I was lucky to buy a whole car, so most of what I needed was on that. Certainly get as much info as possible 1st.
I would do another, but having learnt a lot from mine, I would change some things.

No problem with clearance. checkout my profile. I have an album with a few photos. I need to update latest work. Project is still a work in progress. Waiting for warmer weather. I have to do most work outside.
