Looks good! After having LS motors, I love em.

    update:
Project went from 5.3 to a 2001 6.0 I found for $500. everything there but no intake assemebly, wiring or PCM.

found a deal on ebay where a guy sells 0411 PCMs and programs them with the basics for $125 shipped no core.

got a cold air setup for $60 from ebay for a 01 silverado..looks good.

got a new delphi 01 MAF to complete the take. $77 shipped.

got a flowmaster 40 series 3 inch in/3 inch out for $60 shipped.

looking at a 01 stock 5.3 wiring harness for $150 shipped or a stand alone for $490. For $300 I think I can thin out the factory wiring harness and customize it to my liking. Looking more into the harness now.

also looking at LLP headers and off road ypipe since they are about $499 shipped and stainless steel.

Also have a 46l0e/stock convertor from an 05 silverado to bolt up. Just got to figure out how to mate it to my NP8 transfer case...anyone know? This should eliminate any need for a new flywheel and spacer. Plus my existing transfer case is leaky and needs to be split to reseal.

oh yeah and got a SPAL fan controller and extra relay kit for it to mount the dual fans. I may actually mount this before I start on the swap. I found crud blocking the spark for #7 cylinder to fire. Put a new sparkplug in it for now and it does ok, but I know Im on borrowed time. Im at 231k miles now.

From alot of reading from the forum, this is what Im thinking it's going to take to make fuel lines. No progress on fans yet, going to pick up the new transplant today hopefully from salvage yard. After dickin with craiglist sellers and beong done with them I found the entire 2001 6.0 from a GMC denali with 113k miles, all accessories, wiring, PCM, MAF, DBW pedal etc for $1200 locally. Going to try and tackle my own harness. No one can tell me yet if my NP8 transfer case will bolt straight up to my 2005 4L60E

Pics as I get the motor.

If the transmission you are trying to use came out of a two wheel drive truck then no, it won't bolt up. The 4L60E in a 4x4 has a shorter output shaft. Why don't you just use the original 4L60E out of your Tahoe?

The tranny is from a 05 5.3 4x4 truck. Want to keep it more plug n play if you know what I mean. Plus I never seem to have a problem finding later model 4L60Es and don't have to change anything for it to mate up to the new LS motor if that makes sense.

In that case it should bolt right up to the original transfer case out of your Tahoe.

Well good to hear, Im thinking it should fit but tryting to get as much ordered and together before I pull the engine.

So picked up the 113k mile 6.0..gave it a little bath before undressing her a little.

got my dirty dingo mounts in the mail today. Going to take off all the not so necessary stuff for the engine and start figuring out some wiring. Didn't realy want drive by wire but got to go back and pull the pedal assembly from the truck and other little tidbit stuff.
