In my 1992 i used the stock radiator that came in the truck( a 5.7 from the factory) I have zero cooling issues. I have a 5 speed manual and a 16in electric fan with a shroud. Fan doesn't even run this time a year in NY unless i sit for awhile.

I have a brand new radiator going in my truck. My current one has a cracked tank but I have no issues so I ordered a new one to replace it once I get this swap under way.

Engine looks good. Mounts too. I went the different route by using plates and then the original clamshell mounts.

I'm not a big fan of the new Photobucket either. To me, there seems like there were more options with the older version of the Photobucket rather than the recent one.

Well it just seems to be slower to use. You were able to get the links much faster by hovering over the picture. I dont know why stuff like that gets changed when it works great.

I still need to decide while the motor is on the stand to do a cam swap or leave it alone so I can send out the PCM to get tuned one way or the other. Then whenever I get time I need to sit down and do the wiring.

Might be working close with you, I still need to tap into my wiring harness also..got most of it labeled, just got to get it off the engine the rest of the way.

Ya im still up in the air about which way I want to do the wiring. de-pin and re-pin my OBS harness with connector ends or use the one off the LS motor and graft it in.

isnt there a way to stand alone the LS engine and just repin the rest into the existing LS1 PCM? Im sticking to mainly using LS PCM and wiring as much as possible.

On the 96-2000 GMT400 trucks, you only need to add 10 wires and rework the existing harness a bit for the Gen3 install. You also repin the connectors at the PCM which is very easy. PM me your name and e-mail address and year of your truck if interested.

Minor tear down lead to more than I wanted to. Pulling the heads next.

The intake gaskets were dry rotted & cracked and water got into the heads during its bath.

But at least I can clean it up some more now.
