It's always nice having another running vehicle to make comparisons with. If she lets you near it, it should be helpful.

so ive been doing a sh**-ton of research on whats required for emissions and how all the compents work/what they do the past few days and i actually get it now! lol id say 85% but still. it seems i need the carcoal canister, purge solenoid valve, vent solenoid valve(already on the intake), nesessary tubing for the EVAP system, fuel tank pressure sensor, fuel sender(signal for pcm,not gauge), o2 sensors, and 2 cats. it seems EGR is not neccesary on DBW equiped vehicles as they do a better job in getting the correct air/fuel mixture so i dont need it. that pretty much covers it i think. my only issue is the pressure sensor/sender as they are part of the fuel pump/float assembly. since my 95 is pre obd2 it only has a 2 wire sender(i need 3 wire) and no pressure sensor. but the 96-98 were obd2 cars and those assemblies have what i need along with the higher pressure pump AND its a direct fit since our tanks are the same!!! so i just gotta get me a newer style assembly and im good to go on that!!!
just thought id post that in case there are other californians that want to do a legal swap and are confused as to what is needed. hope that helps someone out!
i wanna order the parts to adapt the stock lines to the fuel rails. i just dont know which russel push on fittings to order.. how do i know which size i need? 5/16 or 3/8? or is it one of each?

ok well i just went ahead and ordered a bunch of stuff for the swap about 5 min ago. figured id update you all with the parts, part numbers and prices for anyone that might also be doing a cali legal swap with this motor. as like most everyone here im trying to do this on a tight budget, but within my limited time frame and i think im doing pretty well so far being that i cant sit around and wait for those awesome deals to show up. i have been searching everywhere for the basic required parts trying not to bug you with previously asked questions and also for the smog stuff that most of you just dont need. and i think i did it....

I personally think thats not to shabby considering i came into this figuring around 5k easy when i orginally planned doing an LS1/4l80. but the LQ9 has more power for less cost than an ls1. mind you the price doesnt include the future 80e but even with that i should still be well under the 5k mark. yes i know i still need a few other things that will add up including a $100+ charcoal canister. but for doing this legally, i knew it would be more expensive.
so far what do you guys think? am i at/below/above average for my situation? i realize i probably could have gotten a lot of these parts for less if i had the time to wait. but id like to get some opinions from you seasoned LSX swappers out there!!
got a few goodies in the mail the other day. still have a couple more packages on the way but heres what i got so far.
had to move the 280z project out of the way to make room for the truck. did a lot of rearanging and cleaning up yesterday getting ready.
nice to have a shady spot to work.
the plan is to pull the truck in on monday and get this thing going. im excited. i work all day today and tomorrow but ill have plenty of time to get a good chunk of stuff done next week. so my next update with pics will be on monday!!!!
