He should look out by Saratoga. You might not want the wife at the beach when you are gone. We used to live as close as you could to the beach on the island. I work out of the country too and sure enough that is when the last hurricane came close to corpus. It was a mess for my wife. I am by no trying to detour you from living on the island. Just stuff comes with it.

No by any means, advice is always welcome from someone with experience! If anything ever comes up shell just head north to OK where my family is. It doesnt even have to be on the island, Walking distance is cool and all, but she would probably drive anyway if Im not with her. What do you do Slo if you dont mind me asking?

I'm a Sr. Mechanical Adviser for Shell Nigeria. In other words a company man on a Field support vessel for one of Shell's Oil fields here in Nigeria. I oversee all the sub-sea installations, repairs and maintenance to the Shell Bonga Field. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonga_Field

I hear the oil industry is where its at! My company does a lot of security for oil fields here and higher priority stuff overseas and that's where big money comes in for us.

I was looking for awhile at housing in the stratford area in CT., 2100SqFt ran average about 350 to 400K. So this is a nice change of pace for us!

I wish i had ex-pat security. Its all locals and their POS AK's in a chase car behind me. Half the time i think they would sell me out with a quickness for a couple hundred. LOL.
