Sounds like a cool project but know nine of the questions you are asking! Never been a Sonoma fan but man that truck looks good and bet it runs good too!!

Thanks s series kinda my thing up to this point, this is the third 5.3 one ive had. It runs ok just a stock motor, just enough to ruin some tires.

What oil pans dont hang down below the cross member. i plan to lay this thing out and no body talks about it. so guessing a truck pan is ok, i have a H3 oil pan that i plan to run that is left over from a s10 build where it was to low.

The f body pan would be the best for clearance. It's hefty on the wallet tho.
I have the same body style and mines bodydropped. I'm going to run a ctsv pan on mine.
It's a bit deeper than the fbody pan but according to my measurements should still be bearly above the crossmember.
If you plan to lay frame (by your mmw purchase I'm assuming you do) then the truck pan is going to be a problem.
Post up your progress! I need to update mine.
Not too many bagged and swapped rides on here so the few of us need to stick together!
Nice dime BTW, I miss my first gen blazer. 350, 40 over...
It was a lot of fun.
