I've got a 97 GMC Sierra that is getting a 4.8l. I had it in there and running(butcher harness) when I noticed the oil pressure issues. Removed water pump and then timing cover...SLUDGE. SO, out came the motor for an overhaul. New gaskets, head bolts and a thorough cleaning.
