Thread: Painted dash?

    I painted mine using SEM products... looks factory. Below is a list of what I used - in this order too.

    SEM Soap SE39362 to clean (scrubbed with this soap and scuff pad)
    SEM Plastic and Leather Prep SE38353
    SEM Sand Free SE38363 (basically an adhesion promoter)
    SEM Color Coat (I used a black satin finish. I tried the regular black, but it was too shiny and looked too cheesy for me)

    I'm pleased with how it came out. The dash was removed from the truck too... the passenger air bag was the only thing still mounted in the truck I re-painted.

    Key is to clean it well and use latex gloves the whole time to prevent any oil contamination from your hands.

    I will definately take a look at sem products. I wanted to paint it a satin black also. Did you sand it smooth or just enogh so the paint would adhere to it? Thanks alot for the info.

    Thanks for the list, this will be very helpful for a few projects I have coming up.
