    getting ready to start my LQ4 6.0 swap

    You have got a nice clean engine to start with, what year model truck are you dropping it into?

    yea its got 80k on it. i put i little elbow into it to clean it up before it goes in. i have an 05 rcsb with a 4.3 that im swapping it into. yea im getting a built trans,3000stall converter, exhaust, intake,and tune to start with so im thinking it should b fun

    That is clean, I love it. Now that I have seen yours, I think I will paint my front bracket as well. Great job so far. What paint did you use, I like the flat black. I already paint my heads and block and did not even think to do the brackets.

    thanks man.. yea i just used some spray bomb from my local auto parts store it was the FHT engine paint satin black.. i sandblasted it then used a lil etch primer cause the bracket is cast aluminum then sprayed it black

    so tommarrow is the day im going to start the swap i have all the required parts so here goes but!!!! there's only one question that i think i have... now once i get the motor in all i have to do as far as wiring is plug the engine harness into my original fuse box under the hood... i understand there's various other thing need to be done such as fuel lines,exhaust,coolant hose plumbing exc...its only the wiring hook up that concerns me not a whole lot of details out there... any help would be greatly appreciated i have an 05 4.3 v6 swapping to 04 lq4 6.0 engine i have the 6.0 engine harness with pedal and modual just curious about actually plugging it into my truck

    Nice looking engine.

    Wiring diagrams are always helpful in swaps. What may help you is the fact that the 6.0 probably came out of a similar vehicle so the wiring should be close to what's already in your truck.
    Did you get your PCM flashed to remove the VATS?

    yes sir i have a nelson tune in it... the list of mods to start with is heddmen headers,volant cool air intake, magnaflow full exhaust, built 4l60E by big dawg trans out of tampa FL and 3000 stall ,MSD wires,and a tuned PCM by nelson performance
