Limited slip=Posi......Posi= Limited slip, they both do the same thing, one just got its name coined in the early 60's and the other in the mid 80's.....either or...get a tru trac and gears and call it a day. "limited slip" is the name of the carrier, "Posi-Traction" is just what the old heads called their rears when they had 2 tire fires. If you want "fully locked" say spool or mini-spool or locker or ARB, and sometimes G80 ( factory junk Eaton Locker ). So when you search for diff's search for Limited Slips because that is there proper name, when it is installed tell you'r friends that you have a "posi" unit....it will be easier for them to understand that you can smoke both tires. I hope this helps you with the Terms and Lingo.

Thank you! So I need gears, and a Detroit True Trac. This what I had planned for it. I want 3:90 gear I think.

What current gear do you have now? Do you want to make the truck a street truck or strip? Highway or city driving? 4:10's is a good starting point. 3:90's will feel a tiny bit nicer then 3:73's but a waste of money because then you will want 4:10's. And you don't "need" gears, if you are happy with your current setup, but while you are in there might as well change them....just my opinion. Do it one and done

I have 3:42s. I want either 3:73, 3:90 or 4:10. Truck is a DD, but also a weekend warrior. Drive about 40-50 miles a day. Most of that of that is highway speeds.
