    Newbie... 92 k1500 help

Hey there guys... I'm pretty new on here... And I need some help..

My 92 k1500 with 360kms just pretty much died... motor oil is running out the rear inspection cover and it has a horrible knock when starting cold..... Trucks engine and tranny are both in same shape...

I have a 2006 6.0l i was going to put in a 72 vette.. but ended up selling vette...(too far gone)...

Heres what I have for the 6.0l... ls1 intake with cable throttlebody, fbody powersteering pump, fbody alt bracket. I have headers from a fbody and no exhaust manifolds. I have a 6.0l ring gear and a 5.3 ring gear...

I Have no wiring or ecm, no water pump.....

The truck is going to need a new or different tranny...

i read some where that a 96-97 4l60e should work with computer?... will it bolt right to my existing transfer case?...

Anyone have any issues or experience running the fbody acc in a k1500?..

When I buy a ecm is there any special programming or type that is best to run the 4l60e?..

I have used the search button... just need a clear answer... I would hate to buy another tbi and put back in... they are junk...

Hey welcome to the show. Since you mainly have f-body accessories get an f-body water pump. You can get a Nelson Performance harness and also buy a pcm from them that comes with a custom tune. The transfer case should bolt up but you will need the output shaft replaced. There should be no issues running the f-body accessories on your truck, I haven't had any. Good luck and keep us posted. Also look in the LS conversion section, at the top are the stickies, lots of good info there.

It would be better if you call them. And the 700r4 will not last long behind the 6.0. Plus having to make a place to attach the kickdown (tv) cable.

Now that I can't help you with. I know nothing about 4x4's or transfer cases. Maybe someone else that does will chime in.

I think as long as I use 93 -98 4l60e(700r4) the transfercase will not be a problem...

I live in canada... and most of my parts will have to be bought off ebay...

I picked out some mounts similar to the dirty dingos, water pump, couple sensors...etc... let me know what you guys think...

I had started to put the 6.0l in a 1972 corvette... but realised the vette was pretty far gone to be fixing... I had changed intake, and all other accessories over to fbody to fit in corvette...
