ive decided to say f*** it. im going to order one of the aluminum blocks ive found them for 400 bucks. a friend of mine owns a racecar shop and through him i can get a discount at a engine shop. i can get the block hot tanked and honed for 40 bucks. re use the rotating assembly out of the new block assuming its all okay have those cleaned up to new rings and everything then get like a tsp220r or 228r cam get some 799 heads have them cleaned up and ported maybe keep the truck intake or possibly got to a tbss intake. use a 3k stall or maybe 3600 depending on what cam i go with ( ill probably go with the 220r and the 3k stall for street ability reasons). but what does the r stand for at the end of the cam spec???

The "R" on the cam is for reverse, the "R" in your truck is for RACE........ jk

......What it really stands for is " XER " and the "R" means that is what platform the cam lobes were ground on. There are different "types" of platform patterns for grinding a cam from TSP, example "XE,XI<XFI,XER...etc" The "R" version is slightly different cam grind then standard cam grind.
