If the L33 has the 243/799 heads, keep them and bolt them to the LQ9.

+1 up the compression and make that thing fly. Actually on second thought LQ9 has flat tops and is already 10:1 add the smaller combustion chambers on the 243s almost 11:1 you might be a little high on pump gas and idk about ptv issues should be safe. Throw an LS6 cam in there and bam iron LS2.

I just replaced my spark plugs not to long ago so they are fairly new. Will they swap over to the 6.0 as well or is the gap different?
Is the flex plate the same for both engines?
LQ9 yes pre2001 lq4 no.

Sorry to bring back this old thread, but has anyone done this swap without any major complications? I'm looking to do this myself. Everything I've read, and been told says that this is an easy swap, but I like to gather as much information as possible.
Just did this 2 weeks ago and have been driving it everyday since. I went from a 4.8 to 6.0, but same thing. Its literally a direct swap out, no problems. I just used all the sensors from my old 4.8 since i knew they were good.
