99's are the slowest and lowest rated engines. mileage on both? compression? lots of variables. octane? drivetrain?
two identical engines , one with less hp or slower 1/4 mile, seen it a lot of times.
his was built on wednesday, yours on monday.

same thing as when one truck breaks records or puts out more hp than the others, now all the others expects their setup to do the same.
when in fact, there are variables and differences.

don't be sad, i have a slow one too; my escalade, it's just one of those combinations that can't take timing lol, luck of the draw.
yes, there are things to fix it and improve performance but steps need to be taken.

oh non taken farmtruc!! and im on you 89 octane tune. thank you all for the input. what steps do i start to take from here ive got some efans (just gotta order the harness from np) after that i was going to start getting ready for my cam adn drop in a 3200 stall, trans cooler, and shift kit. then my cam. are there any other "free" mods im missing after my fans that i could notice power in? id rather not change up my gearing my last truck had 4:56 gear ratio and it killed me on the highway. ive dont the air intake, full exhaust, cleaned the maf, i left the tb alone because i read on here its not needed until i go the route of FI. i thought about running nos but i dont know what kind of shot stock internals can take let alone my tired 4l60 witch im patiently waiting for it to start going so i can throw something a little better in it.

My buddy has an 04 ccsb z71 5.3 that is an absolute turd. I mean it is the heaviest silverado ever made lol but it seems much slower than it should. It has an intake, headers, efans, and tune and my roommate's bone stock 02 tahoe can beat it to 60 or so
