    4.125 stroke crank in a 3.9 bore 5.3 block?

Been doing some reading on the subject and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. From what I've read on ls1tech lots of people love this stroker and lots don't. I kind of like the idea of having almost 400 inches and the block still has 4.8/5.3 stamped on it for everyone to see. I'm not worried about price of machine work because it will all be free and I already have a 2 blocks. Do you guys think the long stroke and small bore would live under boost? Would it be safer to use a 4 inch stroke and make a 383 ?

Yes, a couple of these type builds have been done before and work well. I think the main complaint is that the cost vs a 6.0 taken to 402/8/14 is so close that the 383 is much less common. If you can get the machining cost down then it would be a good idea tho the hard internal parts will still cost you a pretty penny. using an iron block I don't see why not. For me I would be much more likely to build a 408, but to each there own and I like the 5.3 stamp idea kinda fun.

Yup pretty sure I could pass it off as a cammed 4.8 and hussle a few folks lol. 5.3's go for 350 bucks all day long in my town. 6.0's you can add another thousand. I'm not out to be the fastest, just having fun and leaving disgusted looks on peoples face.

A complete 6.0 for sure is pricey, but if your going big cubes a 6.0 block isn't so costly. Your build is awesome though gotta love it.

Might have to get an extra 76mm on 3 to help feed it lol!

Just because you can...don't mean you should.

Strokers make more power but, it comes at the price of long term reliability. Boost + 4" stroke? Man I just do know.....a 4" bore with a 4.8 crank sounds much better to me. Grind the 6.0 off the block, my LS3 heads have been ground down and 241 engraved onto the head

Should be pretty cool and sneaky. FYI a brand new 6.0 block is $600 and change

I'd go with small bore long stroke. Less area for the flame to fill on combustion, more mechanical leverage, piston pulls from top dead center faster and cylinder has more time to fill with air/fuel. You will need a good flowing head if you decide to go this route.
