    Ran a plug on one that was 1/4" from crown for years.....never had an issue with it.....however it was on the family sedan, not my monster of a street truck.

    It's not even a thumb width from the edge of the tire. I put some slime it it this am and it's still not flat so we'll see.

    ive had balance issues using slime, but this was 10 years ago. i would just patch or use one of those patch/plugs

    Those patch/plugs that look like big golf tees are the best thing going.

    I think I'll try to plug it myself, but if it seems questionable I'll replace all 4 tires for peace of mind. Me and my 5yo son are going to the lsx shoot out in Indianapolis, IN. The front is down past the tread markers a little, and the rear I'll change the size. The current size I'm not in love with.
