I use to have a 2003 3500 dually with a 6.0, it could not get out of its own way. Highway speed was no problem, but it came at the price of 8mpg.

Not to bothered with mpg's. Wont be a DD just a toy. Wouldnt mind getting the best of a few mustangs but thats later.
it will take some power to get that truck going. You would def benefit from bigger cubes or going turbo, or even both. The 80e with a transgo shift kit should hold a good amount of power. I would think about going pretty deep on the gears if your really not worried about mileage, some 4.56s would help that monster get out of the hole, and as long as you keep the 80e would not hurt cruising too much. Sounds like a cool project.

The best advice I have ever heard:... Only take B( . Y . )ST advice from someone that is CURRENTLY running a turbo setup close to, or bigger than what you want......
Thanks for the info. Also if any one has parts for sale that i can use for the swap let me know.
Also looking for a set of 22.5s shaved down and adapters
These trucks look silly with the 16s and even up to the 19s IMO. I want a wheel to fill out the fender. To each his own.
