Take the scenic loop - its like 40 miles for a good trip through the park. I wouldn't go without a gun or two for the illegals, mountain lions, and bears. If you're going to be there a few days an EZ-Up would be appreciated if you're in an area with no shade. Flash lights/lantern, a block of ice will keep better than a bag in the Yeti or frozen bottles of water which is what I use, plenty of sun screen, two cans MINIMUM of fix-a-flat. Your phone won't work out there so plan accordingly. I'm in the area quite a bit so my truck is pretty much loaded for the area most of the time.

Thanks for the info! Taking 2 spares and 2 Glocks. Additional shelter was already planned. Good info on the ice. Yeti worth it to you? Is was hard for me to pony up the cash, lol.

Taking my 2011 ECSB (2WD) leveled on 33" M/T....thoughts on river road?

I didn't find any place out there I couldn't go in 2wd. I would like a Yeti if they weren't so expensive - I'm thinking about making my own cooler out of stainless and expandable foam for a permenant mount in my prerunner build.

Had an awesome time! Old Ore was really technical. Other roads were fun! Yeti held ice for 5 days! Stayed one night in the eastern desert and one in the basin. Then a night at Davis mts and one at Guadalupe river s.p. Allen tuned the truck Wednesday on the way up there...picked up 3 mpg!

Yes, it was pretty warm in the desert, lol. But we had the while park to our selves! No one at cottonwood, 2 at RG village and a handful in the basin.
