    91 c1500

I am in the process of swapping my tired old 350 and 700R4 for a LQ4 and T56 in my 1991 Chevy C1500 reg cab step side bed pickup. I am using a set of TransDapt 1 inch set back plates on the LQ4 and then the factory clam shell engine mounts off the 350. Well not the factory ones but new polyurethane ones. I have a couple of questions. Front accessories, what works best and isn't really expensive? I want to drive this truck so here in West Texas A/C is a must. I have all the acessories off the LQ4 and they are all in good working condition. My other question is about headers, will a set of shortys for a later model Chevy pickup work? I found some stainless steel ones on Ebay for around $200. I don't want to spend $500 on the Schoenfeld ones if I don't have to.

if you want a/c get the josh powers brackets. you can still use all the stock accs except the ac compressor i believe. if your gonna buy headers anyways you may as well get the schoenfield ones and have longtubes. shorties are really a waste of money imo. i dunno where you got $500 from there only $269 and well worth it.

I want them ceramic coated. They are $270 painted if you want them ceramic coated that's an additional $225

You should't have a problem running shorties. They are the same size as the stock manifolds. But you will not see any gains going from the stock manifolds to shorties. The Schoenfelds are going to give you a much better gain. They are only $270 uncoated. You can also use pacesetters for a 99-06 truck.
