    I posted this on the SS forum, just thought some of you might be interested also.

    The other day, I was talking to a man who decided to let me install a Radix on his '03 SS.
    I was admiring the SS emblems on the side of the truck and he said they were sh!t. I asked why and he explained. They are hollow and just stamped tin. He took his to the car wash and one of those cotton strands got caught in his emblem and bent it back making a nice crease in it.
    Well, my solution was to come up with some nice stainless steel emblems exactly like the prodcution ones (same idea he had). Maybe even with a slighter slant to them. He said the stock replacements were close to $100 bucks, lol, what a rip off.

    He runs a water jet cutter and other various types of equipement and just hasn't gotten around to making some.
    I'm not trying to make any money off of them, just thought some of you might be interested. I already have a few guys who want them.

    Anyone?

    thanks,

    allen

    You should be able to get some after market sales. I use the S-10 emblems on my 99 before the real ss come out.

    They can be as thick as you want it, i figure 1/4 inch is borderline too thick, an 1/8 would be too skinny, so it's up to you, this guy can cut up to 3" of stainless so, whatever you want, however, i'd like to keep all the thickness the same size, may be cheaper that way instead of changing thicknesses out.

    what about 1/4 inch thick, is that too thick for you?

    i wanna get some made so i can check out the results, also , they'll come polished, so just slap some two sided 3M tape on it, and stick it on. Or you may want to clear coat it. he has plans to install a huge powder coating system as well, that'll be neat.

    ah, just imagine how some black powerdered coated emblems would look on a black ss, or a blue emblems on a blue one, etc.

    let me know,

    allen

    So these are SS emblems, I thought it was a "no no" to put SS emblems on a non SS truck. I had wanted to do this at one time and was criticised (sp) pretty hard for it on another forum. If this seems to be a cool thing to do I might want some.
