    heater core hose fittings

    Turns out one of the fittings on the firewall for the heater core hose is leaking. I have no idea how to pull those fittings off, nor do I have any clue what kind of fittings they are. Does any know what type of fittings they are and how to remove them?

    i spilt mine and removed those, now i just have a hose over it

    Special tool to remove them or just cut them off carefully with a grinder. You don't even need the fitting because the heater core tubing is the right size to slide your hose onto and put a hose clamp on it .

    What tool exactly do I need to remove them, or do I just need the appropriate size quick disconnect tool?

    X2^^^^ ive done it n its the easiest route.


    4.8, TSP 220, 6L90 swap, 3400 Stall, 4.10s w/30" drag radial and T76 @ 16lbs.
    Best ET 11.54@114 w 1.52 60ft
    Raceweight 4905 lbs.

    The "proper" way is with the "proper" disconnect tool. Someone may loan one? Yes, the rubber portion of the hose will fit over the aluminum heater core pipes. This can cause issues with heater operation in some cases because there are restrictors built into the plastic fittings to regulate coolant flow through the heater core. Most people on a website like this would probably care less about that detail. Just sayin'.....

    I dont cut the entire fitting just the "clamp" and slide new hose over the existing fitting. Found out the hard way on a f150 heater core.

    Here is the disconnect kit. Takes seconds to use and works very well. Any auto parts house will have them. I think they were less than 15$
