B5 on the c100 connector should be for the speedo. if you look in my build thread i have 2 c100 diagrams, 1 for 96 & 1 for 98. i know 96 & 98 are different but i'm not sure about 97. either way, the speedo connection is the same.
the tach will either be B2 or E8

started gutting the vortec harness today, only pulled loose stuff, left temp sensor wire, oil pressure, Starter lead, AC lead and i want to keep the neutral safety switch since i heard that is where the reverse lights operate, any insight on this?

i'm not using a neutral safety switch right now. i'm using the trans from a camaro & the NSS from the truck won't work on it until i swap out the shaft for the linkage.
on the truck harness i pretty much pulled/cut everything that went to the truck ECU.
